Peony As Tea
Drinking tea is one of the Chinese traditions.Since ancient times, Chinese people have added clean peony petals into the tea, to add the fragrance of peony and make use of its medicinal value.According to The Compendium of Materia Medica, adding peony petals into tea and long-time peony tea drinking can prolong one’s life. Now peony healthy tea is make by mixing peony petals with green tea leaves,It has13 amino acides, vitamin, micro-elements,macro-elements and other natural elements.

Japan has the world’s second largest planting area and number of tree peonies following China.Though the national flower of Japan is sakura,Japanese people are very fond of people under the long-time influence of Chinese Culture. Peony is planted in many place in Japan,such as Tokyo, Hasedera temple and sekkoji-temple in Nara, Sukagawa, Okayama,peony garden for Master Nishii, Chiba University, and Shimane. Peony species in Japan totals more than three hundred, including Golden Pavilion, Golden King,Golden Sun, The King of Flowers,sun, hatsushima,Jade-white Lion, Minister of Flowers,Fuji-no-mine,Kamata,Yachiyo and Sunset.According to some takahiro’s peony and Chinese peony,there are 312 peony species in Japan and211 of them are developed by Japanese people. The one most worth mentioning is Cold Peony which can blossom in winter. It once shocked horticultural experts worldwide. Besides, the peony festival held in Daikon Island, Matsue every year is very popular in Japan.
