lauribob's blog: Such a Strange Winter (Feb 5 2010)

Posted on Jun 6, 2017 9:27 AM

I am moving my blog from DG to here. Hopefully it won't be a giant project - I don't have that many posts over there and never go there anymore for anything else.

The sun is finally out today, it feels so good to see some blue sky after a week of rain, fog, and gloom. I would rather have it be a little colder and have our normal sun than this unrelenting gray! We've got about 5 inches of sloppy wet snow on the ground after the mildest January in the 20 years we've lived here.

I ordered seeds today - I'm hoping for an early spring this year. Maybe I will get busy and clean out the greenhouse this weekend while Greg's watching the Superbowl.

Chickadees, goldfinches, purple housefinches, and the occasional downy woodpecker are busy at the feeders. We have one big woody woodpecker hanging around too, along with the usual magpies and eagles.

I am so ready for spring!
