robinlarson's blog: Recyling!!

Posted on Jun 9, 2017 3:35 PM

We finally got my garden boxes finished and planted. We recycled the tin from an old shed at our camp along with the 2x6 post scraps. Bought 2"x3"x8' boards for the frames. Cost...less than 20 bucks each. We had to buy sand (a couple inches to help with drainage) and the soil, so with a ton of sand and two of top soil, we have less than $75.00 each! A week or two late, but I am happy!! Tomatoes, lettuce and some cauliflower.
Then, I just had to recycle the seed spreader. Plant it, don't pitch it!! I planted Purple Wave Petunias, and Shirley Geraniums. If it sits still and holds soil, I will plant in it!
