trailtwister's blog: A chain saw sheath for the tractor.

Posted on Oct 26, 2017 5:57 AM

In need of a convention safe way to carry a couple chain saws on the tractor I have searched for Ideas on the net. Seem Ones you can buy, are nice but a lot more pricy than I feel they should be for what most are. I did run across a you tube on flating PCV pipe for some project the fellow was working on. He had a heat box he had borrowsd from some person he knew with one to flatten the PCV.

I have decided I can flatten PCV pipe the short 20" sections I will need any way by makeing a vice out of some 2x6 lumber.
Place the PCV pipe in it then set it on my wood furnace on some bricks so it isn't in contact with the metal. As the PCV heats up I can tighten the 2x6 vice a little at a time till I get the pipe as flat as I want it to be.
I have no Idea how much heat will be required.

I melt bees wax at 140F useing a double boiler I made.
