JaneLee's blog: A Garden for Mohammed

Posted on Sep 11, 2021 9:44 AM

My friend, Mohammed, from Saudi Arabia is coming to Bahariterra this weekend to apply for citizenship and we decided to throw him a big surprise party and plant him a brand new garden at his future house! I cannot wait to see the look of overjoy and excitement on his face. We planted peppers, beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash on the 4.8 acre farm house he is purchasing in the mountains and at the small, one story seaside cottage he just bought we planted taro, breadfruit, nutmeg, cinnamon, coconuts, macadamia, sugar cane, and Bahariterra wild grapes. He loves gardening and has a deep passion but he got hurt when fighting alongside the US army to defeat Taliban so he cannot dig too much. He was so sad and I could tell on the phone that he was heartbroken. I hired my buddy Jim for 80 dollars to tend his gardens once a week until late October and then the seaside one should naturally reproduce and take care of itself and the one in the mountains will go dormant because it snows up there. I will replant some things for him next year as well. Cheers and Aloha from the Atlantic's version of Hawaii.
