| I have this Sedum Morganianium (Donkey's Tail)hanging in my backyard and has been growing beautifully this past few months until this last 30 days. Something is actually eating the succulent heads on the very top of the pot, it hasn't reached the Donkey Tails hanging on the side of the pot. I do not see any infestation of any kind, because of it's height it appears a bird is eating the growth. Any suggestions? |
| It's natural for plants to lose their older leaves and the oldest leaves of your Donkey's Tail are located at the crown of the plant. Over time the fleshy leaves will wither and die, leaving only a bare stem with a leaf scar. To keep the plants full, you can pinch out the growing tips, which will force the crown to develop new stems. If birds are in fact eating the leaves of your plant (which is certainly a possibility, but not something I've ever heard of before), you can place bird netting or hardware cloth over the crown of the plant to prevent easy access. |
| I have definitely seen birds actively nibbling at new growth of donkey tail. Not sure if this is for moisture or something else. Trying physical barrier to discourage. |
