| I live in Cleveland and powdery mildew has attached my spaghetti and butternut squash plants even after treating with Neem Oil. I have removed much of the leaves and have some great fruit on withering vines. Is there any way to save the squash themselves? They are normally a couple of months away from being ready to pick and I fear they will be lost to sunburn or just not ripen. Thanks. |
| A milk spray can help control the fungus. If you mix 3 parts water to one part whole milk and spray it all over your plants, top and bottom of leaves, you can help get rid of the powdery mildew. (You may find different ratios for the water/milk mix; just use your best judgment to find what works in your garden.) I can't take credit for this knowledge; it was @Trish who taught us this some time ago. |
