'Massachusetts' is the most common cultivar of this species planted in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, or Midwest. It has good resistance to leaf spot and leaf gall. It originated in that state. I put more photos of my 'Massachusetts' Bearberry groundcover patch on the page for the mother species: Arctostaphylos uva-ursi that I planted in Downingtown, PA.
