Small monstrose agave, branching at the base or above, which grows as a crested plant with a high potential for reversion. Rosettes may reach about 6 inches across. The gnarly teeth place it in the vicinity of the recently described Agave oteroi, but the non-crested version is smaller than the former "FO-076 Sierra Mixteca", with more of a distinct stem (taller than wide at maturity) thus the names "Lanky Wanky", "Tower (of Babel)" and "Stacker". The crested form roots rapidly and is fast growing (for a crest) when established. It is fun to play with, easy to divide, and very sun tolerant.
