When I attended the National convention in the Orlando, Florida, area back around 2010, I photographed a daylily in Phil Reilly's garden ( he has since passed and I believe his daughter and wife now run it). Phil had it labeled as 'G. Gordon Liddy.' It is pictured below. But in all these years, I've never been able to find it in the database. So, my best guess is that he either never registered it, or that the name might have been changed ???Does anyone recall ever seeing this or hearing anything about it?
Thanks.

Looks a bit like an even older one I found. Perhaps this is one of the parents?

I checked the Reilly ones there for visual similarities. Shrug!

This one is a bit later (2013):

G. Gordon Liddy was a lawyer and FBI agent involved in Watergate according to Wikipedia

Since you can't name a daylily after a person without that person's permission, that would mean Reilly would have had to name it something else if he registered it most likely. Unless by chance Liddy agreed to it!

Thanks for all the information, folks.
@plasko20 I really appreciated all the database digging
@sooby thanks. Yes, I knew who he was and the naming rules. I was thinking it just got loose in the shuffle after he died. Or that maybe they didn't get the permission.
@OldNuBe : I think they'd run the nursery for some years after Phil died, but am sorry to hear it closed.

You know, the photo looks a lot like My Cup Overflows, and I have also seen several of the older Carpenter plants with a similar look... if you were looking to add something that looks similar. Those flat open blooms make me jump for joy! Thanks for sharing the photo.

Are there any others that look so much like Caribbean Whipped Cream?

LOL, well, you're correct , they do look similar. But the Caribbean Whipped Cream grew here, and was photographed here in my VA garden. The other was taken in Enterprise, FL at Phil Reilley's garden, where I photographed the name tag he had added. We will likely never know what happened, as Phil died not too long after that tour, and he apparently ever got it registered. : (
