I have been post plants in other social media but since this platform is about plants only I guess I ought to give a try. Today I planted 12 peacock gladiolus and 5 yellow crocosmias in the back yard. After planting I noticed the peacock box says zone 7-10, LOL, I already planted, we will see if the peacocks will survive or not. The last frost day will be end of April to end of May.

I counted how many WL I have. about 30 plants. Crazy how easy this catmint reproduce by cutting. It is 100% success rate. I also have many super tiny salvia cara dona that I grow in ground by cutting last year. They grow not as fast as the catmint. Maybe next year they will become bigger.

Iris ID in front yard has became a mess. I remembered everything when I planted and recorded their location very roughly in my journal, such as "by the azalea". However, the newly planted iris were dug out by animal many times, some bitten to death, some out of shape. They were tossed around all over the place and I didn't know which one is which anymore. I cant correctly ID each one anymore, especially without them blooming. I guess I have to patiently wait until they bloom.

The irises I lost including Peggy Sue, Carnival Song, Stairway to H, Silverado, City lights, Summer Olympic, Beverly Sills. I lost all of them in the first season, largely due to wild animals, small part due to too wet. I finally figured out one particularly spot is not good for iris. And for wild animal, I am covering new babies using a plastic cage--- recycled plastic plant trays.

I have been looking at my plants a few times a day. My neighbor must think this women is crazy but I enjoy seeing them change everyday during this time of the year.
