[ Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Paul Voth') | Posted on July 12, 2021 ]

I bought this in the fall of 2020. It bloomed beautifully in 2021 but got rust three times on the leaves and scapes. Each time I observed rust on this plant, I cut it back and treated it with Green Magic. I am going to have to let this one go.

I am in zone 8b, and Joan Senior is one of my absolute favorites. She grows and spreads prolifically here, and her bloom period is quite long. Blooms are always perfect, and the foliage is attractive all winter.

I did have a bad rust outbreak in April this year, and Joan was severely affected. I cut all the fans back and treated with Green Magic. She has recovered and is putting on an impressive bloom show in June.
