I am going to be in Panama City, FL the first week of March. Are there any good places to purchase plants in that area? I don't mind driving a little.

I am pretty sure that is correct. I don't have the individual plants labeled but have a master list in a drawer.

Very nice, Michael, I have one trying to bloom that I just purchased. Cute Tillie.

I posted this in another thread but posting here for anyone that is creative and likes to make things. A Tillandsia grape heart wreath. It is at a local nursery, I didn't buy it, kind of pricey, but neat idea.

Yes, in that cute little coco basket too. Sometimes these box stores surprise me.

Thanks on the photo, I did like how nice the Spanish moss hanging down came out, it's a clump that fell from the tree and is now hanging on my trellis, in the old days I would have taken it off and thrown it away, but now I let it grow. Green Grin!

OK. I just ordered my first Tillandsia in a LONG time. I don;t want to kill it. Its Tillandisa intermedia. Who has it? I know some of you do you have everything else LOL. How should I grow it?? It has a scandent habit. Should I put in in a little cocofiber inside a slat basket?

Gina, You picked a cool looking Tilly 👍. I do not grow it but have seen great photos of it. With the upside down growing habit I think your planting idea is great.

I read it can grow upside down, glued to anything. Not to put any moss because that could cause rot. Should be interesting at any rate!

What a pretty Tillandsia bulbosa! It does look pretty when attempting to bloom, but it is bittersweet knowing it is on its last leg, but who knows it may still make new pups before it totally goes.

I used to have a Tillandsia bulbosa in 2013, fun to watch it form its new pups, just growing it a glass container on top of rocks indoors at that time since it was still winter.

But it was happiest when I moved it outside in my growcamp during the warmer months where there is more constant warm air flow and gets watered frequently when I water my orchids, removed it from the glass container and just let it lay down on an elevated stand. New growth at the base continues to mature on, and some are also growing cradled by lower older leaves.

Sadly, I lost this plant eventually the following winter, oh well....so I stopped for awhile getting Tillandsia bulbosa. I tried it again last year, but it did not finish off the blooming part, just dried off and went kaput again. Just not my luck with Tillandsias bulbosa.

Gina, your new Tillansia is unusual, but that's what I'd expect from you. Thumbs up Seems to have the same requirements as most, I found this blog for you, had the most care info. Best wishes, post a photo when you get it.

tarev, good to know bulbosa doesn't like it too cold, I took mine in my FL room when it was 40 or below. Mom is still attached to this particular one, she hasn't died yet. This one is medium sized, I have a small one that was given to me a couple years ago, it now has three pups, but hasn't bloomed for me.

Sherri, I read that same blog! I read Travaldo's blog a lot. Lots of good stuff in the various installments. I have decided maybe to mount it on an old Devil's Claw seedpod and let it hang down.

Thanks for the link to Travaldo's Blog. I am always looking for info on various plants and blogs don't always show up in a search. I checked it out and it looks like it could be very helpful.

I think it will be fine. I have a few suspended with Tillandsia wire and they are doing good. They are not hanging upside down but have a good angle down to prevent water collecting in the crown. I just formed a little cage with the wire to hold them. If I was more artistic it would have helped.
