We just started growing this wonderful plant a few years ago
after seeing it growing wild in nearby Pauma Valley.
Easy care, drought tolerant, bees love it.

I guessed wrong about the plant identity, but I'm not sorry to be re-introduced to this one. It's stunning. I love the 'perks' that come with your banners (slideshows, videos, links to more info). They put the rest of us to shame.

Great photos Cal. Best that I have seen. Slide show- how cool is that? I looked it up on the database. Could maybe use a few of your pics there as they seem to represent the plant well. Wish I could grow something like that up here. We have a marshland 'popping plant' that has small orchid like flowers which develop into a seed pod that bursts with the slightest touch, throwing the seeds several feet.

Very happy you enjoy the images, and hope you will try the plant.....it's pretty
widespread. Can keep it in a pot, and protect from winter, too.
