Very nice banner, and a pretty old mimosa. I really like the red in this banner, immediately reminded me of a cranberry & cherry drink, probably just my mind wanting the summer days to come...

Your banner certainly reminded me of the summer days!

Mimosa flowers look like fireworks to me. Fantastic banner!

Beautiful! I've never seen a red mimosa, only the pink full blown trees.

Sorry I was awol yesterday.....transitioning to new computer, and lost track. Rolling my eyes.

The mimosa is blooming again!....at least the 3rd time this year.
I need to trim it back (bonsai style), as it has too much foliage, i.e. the ratio of foliage to roots.
I'm amazed it hasn't broken the pot yet. It's a very sturdy ceramic glazed pot,
but will be surprised if it can contain the plant many more years.

Here is a slideshow I hope you will enjoy. Smiling

Thank you for sharing your beautiful tree! Do you have a picture of the entire tree? Very curious about bonsai and would love to see how yours has progressed.

Thanks again!

Very impressive! Thanks for sharing!

I have to get a mimosa seedling to play around with now. One of my neighbors has a bunch of seedlings growing in his front flower bed that had a mature mimosa until he cut it down... I guess they seed pretty easy!

Neat slide show. Such interesting flowers. We don't have mimosa this far north, but we do have mimosa webworm---it attacks honeylocust. Webs the little leaflets together and feeds inside of the leaf/tent. Do you deal with this pest?

Hey Joe,
according to this growing guide, they like zones 6~9, though I almost always try a plant even if it's not my zone.
We're in 10a, so at 6a, you're in a better zone than we are. Smiling

Hope you try again.....worth it. Thumbs up
