I'm taking chances this spring since it's been such a "non-winter." I'm hoping to move my asparagus seedlings, and two kinds of cabbage seedlings into my (unheated) greenhouse this week, if only for during the day. The ground never froze here so I think I may be able to get them into the cold frame, under glass cover once they harden off a bit. Surprised to find that my fig tree is alive and well, right up to the top. I thought with that very frigid spell we had in December it would have been killed back almost to the ground. Maybe figs this year??? Crossing Fingers!

Chances are one thing, but you need to be aware that we are going to get hit by a frigid mass of air in the next 6-10 days with a possible follow up in early April. Winter as been mild here too but it appears that it may be long lasting. I have my greenhouse which affords me some wiggle room. I will be watching the 72 hour forecasts and taking precautions when necessary.

Thanks for the heads-up Craig! I'm checking the National Weather Service forecasts a couple times every day and sort of "playing it by ear." Thank You!
