Hummer and Crocosmia flower

We might have a problem with Crocosmia taking over part of the garden, but the hummers do love them!

@Visual_Botanics Sweet picture! I tried to grow crocosmia and it just struggled and died. Sad What cultivar do you have, Snapper?

I'll have to give Crocosmia a try, most everything I plant has hummers in mind just to keep them coming! Wonderful banner, Snapper.

I was looking them up and read that Lucifer was best for keeping in the ground in Zone 5 (don't like to have to dig up things in fall to replant in spring). I was just waiting before finding where to order them after finding out which you grew. Thanks for that info!

Hi! Smiling

I have this crocosmia! Thumbs up

I was unsure of my thoughts about it,
until I see your pretty plant picture,
and the hungry and happy hummingbird!

Now I will try to help the plant grow!

Do you have growing tips?

Thanks for sharing! Hurray!

I think I tried 2 cultivars, but I don't recall the names. I might dig around in my old notes...but if Lucifer is rated for zone 5, that may have been one of them. Looking at other cultivars, they seem to all be zone 6 or higher.
Perhaps I'll try again---my zone recently changed to 6A, but just barely! I'm like Nancy--I don't like to have to dig things up in fall and replant in spring. Hilarious!
