Just want to share a photo of a stunning daylily. There's a story that goes with it.
15 years ago, my husband brought home some daylilies from his uncle's (Vestal Shipman) daylily farm in Tennessee. Where we planted them here in North Texas didn't get enough sun and never bloomed, so we dug them up and moved them the next year.
A row of Liriope had bordered that section of the flowerbed and still grows there now. Last summer I discovered a Liriope that didn't look right, and in taking a closer look, realized it was a daylily. I moved it out into a sunnier spot last August, and look what happened!
The only yellow one that had been in that shady spot was one Uncle Vestal had named "Cheerleader." I am amazed and stunned myself by its beautiful color! I am naming her "Stunning Gold Cheerleader Surprise."
