Ah yes--I am trying to learn more too!
It is a challenge--after all, what's right? sometimes wrong turns out to be pretty fabulous Hilarious!
This particular rock garden was in fact created for a few specific plants that you can't even appreciate in this picture (they are still there--you just can't see them) because of all the other stuff thrown in on a whim and all the volunteer seedlings that I neglected to pull. Sometimes there are happy accidents; sometimes there are some really unfortunate consequences.
If I had to characterize my 'style' as it were, I'd have to call it a disease, like a really bad infection with a highly resistant form of stacandpacococcus

Mutisia said:Dirt, is there a forum where you have posted more pictures of your garden? I would like to see more of it Lovey dubby

Well, no, not exactly--there are some scattered here and there a little bit from a long time ago, but I don't really remember where all they are (rock gardens? bulbs?). Mostly, I don't post many pictures with much of a view of the of the whole anymore because of all the hideous backgrounds--my house, the neighbors' houses/garages, the streets, cars, people, trashcans, junk, stop signs, firehydrants, basketball hoops, boats, and fences Hilarious! although I do still take a few pictures with plenty of these undesirable and unavoidable elements

No Yamaha's here, I was servicing my Toyota knitting machine! I am a sort of homeless shelter for abandoned sewing and knitting machines. Friends joke that I live in the world's largest yarn box. I have a seed box too, but seeds take up less room than yarn!

I took books out of the library to learn more about perennial borders. I want my gardens to look as beautiful as yours! It is such a challenge to have something blooming all the time!

Beautiful.

Dirt, I am still learning my way around ATP and see that by clicking on your name..I can see the photos you have posted. You do have an eye. At the farmer's markets here...you would sell out of postcards in no time at all.

Do you have to compete with critters coming to munch?

Garden, I went on ebay sometime back and bought a box ( unseen ) of what I think is yarn meant for a machine. It is thin and I have used it but it is too hard to pick up with a knitting needle. I will take a photo of it. It may be that it is wrapped the way it is for needlework ease but I think maybe it is packaged for a machine. It is a curiosity. What do you think? The colors remind me of Dirts photo!

Don't squat with yer spurs on!

People try to turn back their "odometers." Not me. I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved
