Good to see you back again! Your observations of nature are always so interesting and thought-provoking. I think your hypotheses concerning the crow vs. rabbit standoff are all very intriguing; I recently raised up a young cottontail rabbit (from baby to semi-adult, then released) and I was surprised to find that young rabbits are really quite playful and have a good bit of "grit" in them. When I scratched my fingernails on the carpet, the bunny would make play "charges" at my hand, even to the point of jumping up and kicking at my hand before running away; then he'd come back and try again.
I am not "country" I am "landed gentry."

Hi Annie! I didn't realize it had been so long since I blogged last, until I looked at the date on my previous one. I often enjoy reading your blog, which you are so good at keeping up to date. Re. your playful bunny, I see playfulness in a lot of animals, and I'm pretty sure that some of them also have a sense of humor.

My cat Butch was a real trickster. He loved to play practical jokes on me.
