No worries. Sorry I haven't responded. My 95 year old grandfather passed away. It's been a whirlwind of a week. Thanks all for taking the time to comment on my thread. I came home the other evening and my son looked at me seriously and said that the cows came to visit him at the house. They got in my flower beds and had ripped up the lawn with their hooves.
He apologized for not latching the gate properly, but managed to get them all back in. So, I cried as I surveyed the damage and picked up all the broken iris bud stalks and put them in water. The funny thing is the next morning, I looked at the vase before leaving for work. I chuckled as I saw the bloom of Cow Palace! Oh, the irony!

So, I was driving to work early still chuckling about the bloom and all of a sudden, a deer appears out of no where. I nail it straight on and hot coffee spills all over my lap. I rush home, send my husband to help with the deer, change clothes, contact work saying I'm not going to be in, and sobbed laying on the couch with an ice pack on my lap. I needed some consoling, so I then call my mother. I hear her answer in a tone of despair. My grandpa had been struggling with his health. She tells me he doesn't have much time. I pulled myself together, had to call my insurance company and get a police report for my deer hit, get a few things checked and fixed at the collision shop to make sure my car was safe to drive, and head out for over an hour drive to meet my Mom at the hospital. Although I couldn't go into the hospital due to the Covid rules, I made it just in time for my grandfather's passing. I got to see him through a window and be there to comfort my Mom and other family in the parking lot. My grandpa lived a long life and I am happy that he isn't in pain anymore. So, needless to say, I have been trying to catch up on my iris pictures and will be posting soon.
