the last two mornings have been 39
so I have been moving the houseplants inside and almost out of room .Now to decide where the last few plants can fit in.
Always a stressful time ...I want to keep them all .
It may be still a couple weeks before a frost but waiting till the last minute is not doable.
pineapple sage finally blooming
a few more late blooms
enough zinnias for a vase in the house along with cosmos
and a couple late volunteers
Haven't been the garden much this week between the rains and too busy elsewhere .....I have missed it
another two inches of rain (much needed) this week with above average temps , we may have records set the next three days , Our average first frost date is Oct. 10th

toad lilies and asters are late bloomers
I almost forgot about the pineapple sage just now starting
too bad the hummers have left the garden
Mexican sage a favorite of mine for the fuzzy flowers.

I am ready for fall
Until today it was feeling like fall . Morning walks in the 50's
the bean fields are turning and the corn ears are drooping
Very dry here no rain for several weeks , big cracks in the ground.
Decided not to plant some fall crops tired of watering everything
bluebeard and sedum in the same bed look good together.
late boneset and garlic chives in full bloomand attracting all kinds of insects
Baby passed on yesterday
She was my avatar for a couple years
Born all white in a litter of black and white cats she was rejected by her mom(a stray) at birth and bottle raised
We took turns carrying her around the first few weeks and when it was time to name her we couldn't think of anything more fitting than Baby
turned out to have siamese in her
she was cross-eyed and hard of hearing.
She was 18 years old
Sleeping was her favorite pastime these last few years
She was Loved much and will be missed.
