Kaktus said: Yes, Gymnos are my favorite cactus, I have around 50 of adults gymnos and a few hundred seedlings of them..
This is the genus that I still buy if I saw some with beautiful color at the right price.
GigiPlumeria said: Are those the same as moon cactus? Similar to the one I have? I like that their blooms are big for a small cacti.
Kaktus said: Just watching these gymnos that locally sold online, really need a lot of wisdom for not buying them, luckily I managed to control myself.
GigiPlumeria said: I feel the same way with adeniums it is not even the color anymore. If the blooms are similar colors to what I have then I find an excuse to justify the "caudex" or the size of the branches. Justifying that I could use them as rootstock or to give them as gifts. Any excuse to buy more.

You see the differences that others don't because you are very in tune with them . I am the same with the aloe hybrids . When you are very focused you see a lot more than others . If you can see it, I would say don't worry about what others think . 👍
That said it's hard when we can't even listen to what we think 😂😂😂😂 how many times had I decided Ron leave getting a plant to find I snap and it's in my collection in days

Kaktus said: I understand those feeling, the same like me with Gymnos, luckily that I grew up in a very modest/frugal environment, not stingy but just a simple life that enough to erase the word "jealous" from my dictionary.
GigiPlumeria said: @ketsui73 you are right on that, for me when it comes to adeniums "resistance is futile". And to make it more challenging, Adeniums bloom colors are not stable. Just like succulents and aloes you see one in a different time of the year in the store or some vendor will call it a different name and then you end up with 2 or 3 of the same.
That's how I ended up with 100+ desert roses from just May 2021 to present (if this weekend's freeze will not kill them). I did have my original 5 desert roses. I am now able to document the color change and has been making sure I have the right tag and I don't confuse them for a new cultivar that I don't have. And now with my sucess in hand pollinating them, to @Wildbloomers I might end up with an "adenium farm"

Kaktus said: Yes, they are so beautiful, I hope they can grow well here, there is so much different on the humidity between Bangkok and Thailand, I still can manage the temperature difference by providing some shades, but not the humidity.
Kaktus said: These are the latest gymnos acquisition..
Can anyone help to ID the first one, the seller told but I forgot to take note, not baldianun for sure, btw in Thailand they have managed to make baldianun have 3 different flower colors by cross breeding, the shape of the plants are still the same.
