Just Holdin' Up
Posted on Jul 5, 2020 9:50 AM

We heard sirens last night, assumed it was just because the fireworks were going too late in the night, but now might have to evacuate. We woke up to the smell of smoke. Just across at our neighboring hill, someone caught fire to their property, and the fire now covers over 100 acres. Fortunately, the only thing blocking us from the fire right now is the lake, which I would be surprised if the fire crossed over.

Any good and/or bad news and I'll alert you guys.

Gardening, Moving, and a Huge Bug
Posted on Jun 16, 2020 1:42 PM

Well, I got to get out to the yard today. It is a really long work day for me and my family today, because a realist or is coming over tomorrow to look at our house, and everything has to be clean.

We hope to get some pictures and for the house to go up on the market within 2 weeks or so. Then, once it sells, we will be able to move! Oh, and I don't think I told you guys on my blog, but we chose a house to move to in SD! Can't wait to get there because then I'll be able to get a real, proper garden going. My son @Johannian is so excited too. He wants a produce garden. He has a list of things to grow Hilarious!

Anyway, about the "huge bug part".
While I was cleaning, we found a HUGE bug on some stones. It's one of the biggest bugs I've ever seen. This one was 2 inches long, but I think they get up to 2 3/4 inches long or something. It's a ponderous boarer beetle (lol I forget the exact name).

Anyway, if there's anymore news and I'll let you guys know!

For now, stay safe and happy gardening! Thumbs up

It's been Windy
Posted on Jun 7, 2020 12:38 PM

Well, we've been having a lot of family functions (we had a dessert contest), and I've been so focused on those things that I haven't been able to garden.

It's also been quite cold and windy as well, so that doesn't help. I'm hoping to get in some gardening today, because the wind has died down somewhat, and I'll take advantage of it.

I'll check in with y'all later, and hopefully come back with some gardening news.

Have a great and safe day, everyone!

Hard Moving Work, But Some Gardening
Posted on Jun 3, 2020 9:39 PM

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but here I am, with another post for my loyal subscribers!

It's about a month (maybe two) before we move, and we've been getting lots of things done. My husband just fixed our garage door, because it had been broken for some time.

He also fixed the closet doors in my daughters' room, because they weren't in very good shape.

Can't wait to move, but still not sure about gardening. I had learned so much and worked hard for everything I've gotten in gardening now, and I'm going to have to do it all (well, almost all) again when we move.

We are going to have to pick which plants we want to take with us, because we obviously can't take all of our plants.

I'm definitely taking most of my succulents though, because I am definitely very fond of them.

Burn that's all for later. We"re not choosing what we are going to bring yet. I've only packed half the house Hilarious!

Anyway, about the "But Some Gardening" part!

Today it pushed 100 degrees. At least it's cooler than how it's been lately, 104 degrees Hilarious! Hilarious!

Our Parodia just got it's first bloom today! (My son immediately posted pictures and told everyone on the succulents and cacti Chat Rolling on the floor laughing )

I got to roam around the yard today, doing the usual pruning and picking at my plants. We have also been getting the yard ready for whoever is moving in next. Clearing up the yard A LOT. It looks much nicer lol.

Just wish we could have had it like this before we knew we were going to move Rolling on the floor laughing
but seriously... Rolling my eyes.

Anyhoo, I'll keep y'all updated!
